Escape the Matrix — Stanford Escape Room

Who we are

This project is a collaboration between Stanford Lab64, Stanford Student Robotics, and Stanford ACM — builders, puzzlers, and organizers who care about hands-on engineering and playful experiences on campus. Stanford TAPS and Stanford EE also generously assisted with expertise, materials, and logistics.

Stanford Escape is entirely student organized and run: from narrative and puzzles to build and operations.

Theme: Escape the Matrix

Reality is not what it seems.

Drawing inspiration from the movie The Matrix, this immersive escape room experience plunges you to a mission against the clock. Upon waking up, you sense something deeply disturbing about the world around you, almost as if you are always being controlled by someone...or maybe something. To uncover the truth, you will need to spot seams and break patterns holding the system together. Be careful-someone may be watching you closely. Can you escape?

(Having watched the movie is not required to enjoy the experience.)

Built with Care ❤️🧋🐇

This room is built by a group of escape room enthusiasts across all backgrounds and class years at Stanford. We are the ones to keep the simulation running :)
